If you’re surprised Ted Drewes Frozen Custard was selected by our Deca tenants as “Best Ice Cream in St. Louis,” then you probably haven’t lived in St. Louis very long. Starting with their first St. Louis store on Natural Bridge Road, Ted Drewes is an institution in the Gateway City.

From “Crater Copernicus,” (described as a Devil’s food cake topped with custard, hot fudge and whipped cream) to “Lemon Crumb,” (a concrete or sundae with vanilla custard mixed with lemon cream and graham crackers), Ted Drewes has something for everybody. If you are a traditionalist, Ted also serves banana splits, floats and sodas–all made with delicious frozen custard! If just a little bit of decadence is what you’re after, Ted Drewes also offers a “micro” version of concretes and sundaes.

Just as amazing as their wonderful custard, is the way they operate. Native St. Louisans know lengthy lines at Ted Drewes are no problem. That buzzing beehive of bright yellow shirts will deliver your favorite concrete in no time.

For more than 80 years Ted Drewes has been serving up St. Louisans with a smile. Their motto, “Our Business is Service,” helped turn this summer-time treat stand into one of the most successful and favorite landmarks in the St. Louis area. Now, four generations in the making, this business is not just a landmark, it’s a St. Louis tradition.
